Shaohemingdi Party Branch Holds a General Meeting of Party Members & Organizational Life and Democratic Assessment

On the morning of January 11, 2024, Shaohemingdi Party Branch held a general meeting of Party members & organizational life and democratic assessment of Party members, which was chaired by Zhang Jianhua. First, on behalf of the members of the Party Branch, Liu Zhenrong, Party Branch Secretary, reported the work of the Party Branch in 2023 to attending Party members. Liu reviewed Party building in 2023 in five aspects, including strengthening the leadership of political building, intensifying political theory learning and carrying out educational activities under diverse themes; putting equal emphasis on Party building and business and promoting the building of the law firm through Party building; fully performing job responsibilities and ensuring the development and management of Party members; being participants in, promoters and practitioners of public welfare legal services, and carrying forward CPC members’ spirit of utter devotion; building close relations between the Party and the masses and enhancing the cohesion, and affirmed various work carried out at the law firm and the results achieved. Meanwhile, Liu put forward the problems and weaknesses in the work of the Party Branch, and proposed rectification measures in a targeted manner. Moreover, the Party building plan for 2024 was developed to forge the law firm’s Party building brand.

After hearing the report by Liu, the attending Party members reviewed their learning and implementation of the Party’s innovative theories to see how much they gained; reviewed their efforts to enhance their awareness of the ethical standards of the Party to see what they still needed to do to fortify ideals and principles, strengthen loyalty to the Party, carry forward excellent traditions and stay true to their political nature; reviewed the services for the people to see what they did for the people and what still needed to be done; reviewed their role as a pioneer and role model to see whether they performed their duties with tangible efforts and a sense of responsibility, so that they can have the quality at ordinary times, stand out at key moments and go ahead at critical junctures. In a down-to-earth attitude, they conducted criticism and self-criticism in combination with their actual conditions.

At the end of the meeting, all Party members of the law firm collectively learnt the guiding principles of the speech made by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the 3rd plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. Xi noted that after a decade of persistent efforts to combat corruption in the new era, a landslide victory was seen in the fight against corruption and consolidated in an all-round way, but the situation remained severe and complex. He called for clear awareness of the updates of the fight against corruption as well as the conditions that nurture corruption, and urged all to be resilient and persistent and make targeted and continued efforts to win the long-term battle against corruption. As Party members and lawyers, we shall thoroughly implement the guiding principles of Xi’s speech and the important thought on self-revolution, embrace the “Two Establishments” and ensure the “Two Upholds”, so as to provide the rule-of-law power to advance the strict governance of the Party and the Party’s self-revolution in a deep-going way and drive the nationwide efforts to build a strong country and rejuvenate the nation through Chinese modernization.  

The next day, the law firm organized all employees to engage in the “Party Day” activity themed “Learning the Spirit of ‘Two Bombs and One Satellite’ and Practicing the Original Mission of Party Members” at the Memorial Hall for CAS and “Two Bombs and One Satellite”, a patriotism education base. The “two bombs and one satellite” cause was an important symbol of the achievements made in the construction of New China, as well as the pride of the Chinese nation. In the early days of New China, the older generation of scientists including Qian Xuesen gave up the easy life abroad and devoted themselves to China’s construction, some even at the cost of their lives. Deeply touched by their great deeds, the Party members vowed to carry forward the spirit of “two bombs and one satellite”, characterized by “love for the country, selfless devotion, self-reliance, hard work, collaboration, and courage to forge ahead”, in work, learning and life.
